Kala

The 'K.A.L.A - A Centre for Knowledge and Learning Assistance' program empowers women and youth from migrant communities by equipping them with essential skills for personal, economic growth and self-sufficiency.

Through interactive sessions with the women from the migrant community of Jawahar Camp, New Delhi, DFG came up with the name K.A.L.A: which translates to skill and art in Hindi. The name is also an acronym which expands into: centre for Knowledge And Learning Assistance.

An original identity was created and translated into event branding for the launch of the centre. The President of the Senate of Australia Ms. Sue Lines and the Australian High Comissioner to India Mr Philip Green along with the Dy. Comissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi inaugurated the first Kala Centre and an 8 minute documentary with the community women and sanitation workers.
